Forced Migration Online

Forced Migration Online (FMO) is an open-access resources on forced migration, including: over 5,600 full-text documents, 100 resource summaries, multimedia resources, an organisation directory and a vibrant community discussion list.


The Social Science Library (SSL)| supports teaching and research in social sciences. Some 200,000 books and 1,000 current serials are held on open-shelves and can be found by searching the online catalogue SOLO.

The SSL maintains the teaching collections for both the MSc in Migration Studies and the MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies. There is a LibGuide to Migration Studies to help you find the resources you need.

The RSC collections at the Social Science Library form the largest accumulation of materials worldwide relating to forced displacement. The collections comprise over 39,000 bibliographic records, and are both an invaluable and unique archive as well as a vital resource for scholarship and current research for the study of forced migration. Over 3,000 selected items from this collection are also available to download from the Forced Migration Online digital library.

Additional research collections on migration are held at the Tylor Library at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology.
