The education programme shares the work of the museum and its exhibitions and messages with school pupils and university students, as well as supporting curriculum change and teacher training. The Migration Network aims to increase and improve work on migration and related themes in the UK heritage sector and beyond through regional knowledge and best practice sharing events. Following an anthropology degree Emily trained as a citizenship teacher with TeachFirst and then moved on to co-ordinate an international education programme encouraging secondary school pupils into philanthropy. She then worked at Seeds of Peace summer camps – which bring teenagers from the Middle East and South Asia together in America – and subsequently took an MA in Conflict Resolution in the Peace Studies division at Bradford University. She has been involved in growing the Migration Museum from its early days in 2013.
