Gilda's work focuses on refugee entrepreneurship in the global South. She is particularly interested in researching the determinants of refugee entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial behaviour of refugees in firm creation and management as well as the main pattern of entrepreneurship in resource-constrained and adverse environments. Her research focuses on displaced Syrian entrepreneurs and business owners in Jordan and Turkey analysed with both quantitative and qualitative lenses to find our the "why", "what", and "how" of their business creation.
