Imogen's research examines historical and contemporary humanitarian responses to displacement at sea. Her current DPhil project comprises a history of NGO search-and-rescue projects from the 1970s to the present day, focusing on what it means to assist migrants and refugees on the move at sea, in a space outside of nations' territorial borders.
