Jeff's work focuses on global refugee, asylum, migration and humanitarian policy, focusing particularly on: refugee repatriation and reintegration; mixed and maritime migratory movements; the protection of internally displaced people; refugee mobility and transnationalism; developmental approaches to refugee assistance; urban refugees; the role of international organizations, especially UNHCR and IOM; the relationship between refugee/migration policy and research; refugee and displacement statistics; refugee history; refugee and migration governance, including the Global Compact on Refugees.
