Leslie's research has two strands: 1) Religion, mobility, and the urban: her current research broadly focuses on coexistence in diverse cities, with a particular focus on religious diversity and multi-religious encounters. 2) Transnational kinship and care: She is interested in how people maintain relations of care across space within families and vis-à-vis wider communities and states. Leslie also has extensive experience working with community-based, advocacy, and philanthropic organisations on related issues in the UK and US.
