Nicole's work addresses law and international human rights as instruments of power and social stratification, through feminist, Marxist and post-colonial theories. She studies in particular migration law and rules in International and EU frameworks, and in the UK, Denmark and the Czech Republic. Her PhD focused on family reunifications and her current research projects focus more broadly on women's rights (in migration and beyond). Her work highlights how law not only prevents oppression but also furthers unequal power dynamics and unempancipatory social stratification in especially sexist and imperialist manner.
