Roxana’s work focuses on how and why government immigration and border control agencies use machine learning and high-powered surveillance technologies to make their decision-making more efficient. Through qualitative methods and by collaborating with the Canadian government, Roxana’s research investigates how and why governments implement machine learning and algorithmic decision-making in certain parts of the decision-making process and not other.
