See Pok’s dissertation studies social inequality in the context of work transformation. Using a comparative ethnographic approach, he studies changing beliefs on paid work and how gig workers experience job insecurity in post-reform China and Japan. He is also interested in the migration patterns of skilled workers. In addition, using original survey data, he is involved in a project led by colleagues at Oxford studying international migration and Covid-19.
