Vicky's research interests centre on improving understanding of UK immigration policies and their impact. She explores how contemporary British border and asylum policies translate into state management and policing of those using ‘small boats’ to cross the English Channel. In addition to unpicking current politics unfolding in the Anglo-Franco sea-borderlands, she contextualises developments within broader histories of British migration management, asking what can be learnt from repeated cycles of ‘small boat crises’.
