Dr Xin Xu is a higher education scholar conducting research on research. One strand of her research focuses on international academic mobility and migration. Xin co-leads a research project (with Dr Giulio Marini at UCL) funded by the Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE), exploring the experience of international academics in mainland China. The project draws on the analysis of survey data, interviews, policy documents and bibliometric data, to investigate who are international academics working in mainland China, why did they decide to move, how do they experience and engage with Chinese higher education, from academic, social and cultural perspectives.
